PORTUGAL

PORTUGAL: AT THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN

Portugal is a country of strong traditions inhabited by a proud and nostalgic people, capable of fascinating famous writers and directors such as Lord Byron, Wim Wenders and Antonio Tabucchi, as well as a growing number of tourists. Romantic cities such as Lisbon, Porto and Sintra charm visitors with their beauty and atmosphere away from time, while the faded notes of fado, traditional Portuguese music, are indelible to the memory of every listener. The sea is great protagonist of every holiday in Portugal, with the seaside tourism concentrated in the Algarve.
The Portuguese coastline is almost one huge beach stretching for more than 850 Km, each time dotted with rocks that make even more beautiful and picturesque the long stretches of sand or small coves set among cliffs.
The Algarve, the most well-known holiday destination on the seaside, would definitely deserve a vacation, but in a country that is wet by the sea and the sun there are many other possibilities. Alentejo's coastline is located almost in the wild state, features of the best preserved coastline in Europe, while the Lisbon region offers the ever-crowded beaches of Costa do Estoril and the huge stretch of sand from Costa da Caparica.

I was in Portugal not long ago and in particular I was able to visit (and photograph) the southern part of the Algarve and the west coast. In both places I was able to carry out good work both for the beauty of the places and for the almost always mild climate and the peculiarity of the fauna that resides here.
In particular, the coast of the Algarve is landscaped with splendid views: a full succession of bays, beaches, promontories, arches carved in rock and pink sands. You have to be careful if you decide to go down between these beaches because the tide hike here is enormous and fast and it is likely to cut off the road to return, literally disappearing the beach.

The western area houses one of the most virgin coastlines of the whole of Europe and is of enormous scenic effect both for the shape of the coast as well as for the constant breath of the Atlantic that it bathe. Here I visited the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano and Costa Vicentina where, in addition to magnificent landscapes, I could photograph the storks with the cicks in the nests that they build on the sharp rocks of the coast.

In short, a trip to this country will certainly give us great satisfaction (and photographs).

So if you would like to travel to Portugal and be sure to photograph the best landscapes and fauna in these places, do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to accompany you.
